Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Banned From Twitter For Supporting Rush Limbaugh:

Comments

James Paris

What about the ban of Karl Rove? What about all of the other folks being banned by Twitter, just do a Google search. What about the fact that there is nothing in their terms of service that gives a limit on the amount of replying you can do? What about the fact that they have never explained to me why I was banned? (still to this day). What about the fact that they posted on my Twitter page that I was banned for 'Strange Activity', leaving it open for anyone to think anything of me. I do understand how to use Twitter and have been for 18 months. I post a lot but was never banned until the Rush Limbaugh piece was posted. I am not a big believer in coincidence, especially when it involves a company based in liberal
SanFrancisco. Is it possible that there are liberal moderators just like we have mostly liberals in every other form of media?

Chris Ridgeway

James -

It sounds like you don't understand how this works. It's certain a computer, not a person, flagged and banned your account. I can see why your use of Twitter felt okay, but it sorta shows you don't know Twitter culture very well - you were using it more like e-mail. Your use (unintentionally) looked like what spammers are doing. It wasn't because of content. (There are tons of conservative twitter feeds).

You should reconsider your premise on this... I don't think you're oppressed on this one.

James Paris

1. To this day I have received nothing specific on my ban from Twitter from them. They will not answer my requests. I was banned due to 'strange activity'. Read the article on this -

http://thescroogereport.wordpress.com/2009/10/22/did-twitter-ban-user-for-strange-limbaugh-activity/

2. My article was retweeted 160 times by others.

3. I posted it within conversations that were on topic.

4. Twitter has no specific rules that explain how much @replies are too much.

5. I am not alone. Karl Rove was recently suspended and I have received e mails from dozens of conservatives that have been suspended as well.

6. Twitter obviously has very liberal moderators that don't like conservative content.

John

You were banned from Twitter for posting that link to your Rush Limbaugh article 232 times within two days. There is no doubt in my mind that your account was simply suspended after being automatically identified as a spammer, since you were exhibiting the behavior of a spammer (intentionally or not). If anybody doesn't believe me you can check out all of the highly spam-like tweets.

Or you can just visit James' Twitter profile, provided they haven't been deleted since I captured them.

Knowing the truth about this matter, I would exhort anybody involved to bring the truth to light and not continue propagating lies about Twitter being anti-conservative or anti-Christian. To continue telling this story is to be a liar and a deceiver.

Dave Hansen

Excellent article James. It would be great for Twitter to give examples of what they saw that shot up a red flag to Ban you for a Week. Which tweets, what patterns, which individuals are the exact cause that when they reviewed the "facts" they felt they would go ahead with the ban of your account. I just checked and you are back up, so that is good news. http://twitter.com/jameslparis

Did you ever receive any information about the specifics?

I don't think Paul (a poster on this comment page) understands, nor do I believe he actually listens to Rush Limbaugh. Pointing people to a webpage with abbreviated monologues doesn't prove you listen to the show.

Do people forget Rush was asked to be part of the group to purchase the team? He would have been a minority owner and wouldn't have had any major decision ability. When George Soros was linked as a possible part of the group; there wasn't an uproar. Soros has given over $40 million to groups with the specific task of defeating President George Bush and later to putting President Obama in office.

We've seen this time and time again in the media; If they cry hard, loud and long enough they usually get their way. But if they are on the same side as the Majority Media; they get a free pass. Why else would Robert C. Byrd be supported by the media. Bryd tried to block the Civil Rights Act and opposed integrating the military. Yet, he ended up serving in Senate longer than anyone else ever has. Turn his party affiliation around and he would have been out of office no later than the next election. Don Imus gets pressured out, but yet Keith Obermann continues to have a program that rotates similar verbal statements, but Obermann's are meant to hurt. The same goes for Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Why the media even gives Al and Jessea mic to speak into is beyond my understanding.

The NFL nor the Checketts group should not have caved to the media pressure nor the pressure from Sharpton and Jackson.

Bottom line after all that yapping: I agree with James' article.

Paul

The NFL decides who becomes an owner not the other way around.

All this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has to offer is his money and his opinions, (which in my opinion are on the fringes of racism, one mans opinion). There are many more groups biding for the Rams, not just his group. Lets face it there are more men with money (Marshall Faulk) that will gladly fill the slot and the Rams will win or lose depending on how well they work as a team and not on whether or not Rush is an owner.

As for Vick, well he is a player (he has talent not like you, Rush or I, unless you are a NFL player?) and he served his time and the NFL decided we live in the land of second chances, so why not (I personally don’t like it but, oh well). Life has never been fair (NEWS FLASH!)

Now as to the “Free Speech” argument, I guess many of you like myself heard Rush on Thursday “Almost in tears”, priceless. But the last couple of days he now is in his normal ranting and will continue until someone surpasses him, “Free Speech” continues, so what is being stifled, it simply is not true, of course, you may not have a radio, so you might want to get one.

PS – I am sure someone is working to put the tapes together maybe all you subscribers can help, since you are all about getting to the truth?

Jim Paris

Writing this piece has been a real eye-opener for me. There are some Christians that apparently don't agree with standing up for anything. I never thought that my Christianity would be called in to question for my love of dogs and my stand against Michael Vick. If Christians won't speak up for what is right and wrong, who will? I don't know if Rush is a Christian, that is not really the point here.

Allen

James,
I feel cheated somehow. I too am a conservative christian in support of Rush and have not been suspended. How can I earn that badge? ( www.twitter.com/allenperson ). It is sicking to read responses here from people who judge Rush Limbaugh a racist yet ignore Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the likes of them. It is a sad commentary on the part of the Conservative movement that the liberals have been successful in labeling everyone that disagrees with them as racist. I too disagree with the liberal policies ( not skin color )of abortion on demand, higher taxes, big goverment, etc. ( I disagreed when the republicans were doing it too )

Please Sir, consider building your own social network for christains

Montana

James L. Paris, I guess you felt the need to reply to all who posted to you? Hmmm, it seems your actions, not your thoughts is the real reason you got taken out.

For so many years Limbaugh has spent his time on the radio mis-labeling others. Finally he had his judgment day.

george

Twitter is nothing more than a sight used for rich people and movie stars to share with the world how lucky they are and how sad it is for the rest of the world that we arnt in their shoes. I stopped using twitter because you can tell that if you dont write what they want you to,they will just bump you off. Christian people better hold on cause the devil is trying to party.Thank God that all parties have an end. The person that wrote that Jim Paris is a racist supporter is nothing more than another fearful satan follower. So like the rest of them they know that today is the day to holler racist because they know that nothing else will work for them. That person needs to save himself some time and pic up a Bible, read the last book, and understand that the team he/she is on aint ah gonna win.

Geekmom - Obama Do Not Sign This!

i have a lot of experience in the tech world and as a moderator and twitter wouldn't hire me. i'm sure it's because of my tweets. hahaha i don't care - the joke is on them.

MotherRedDog

I'm visiting my son in Puerto Rico this week and have been forced to watch CNN if I want news. I couldn't take it, it was so biased. These people that want to tear down Rush have never even listened to him. They hear the snippet that the low life media matters sends around. These are so taken out of context and never have anything to do with the conversation. Then you have those "journalists" that just make stuff up.

I am a longtime Rush dittohead. Rush is not a rascist. If he was, I wouldn't be listening. This freaking racist crap is getting so old. What are these people going to get a real argument?

If Twitter is this racist, and that's what I call it when you are banned for supporting a man who is accused of racism when it can't be proved, then I'm not all that sure I want to be part of it. I'll have to see how this plays out.

Keep up the good work. If we had to depend on the msm, we'd all be as ignorant as the left.

Werner Patels - The News Spectator

So much for freedom of speech in the world of Web 2.0, eh?

I'm disgusted by lefties.

Hey, question for you all:

What gives off a worse stink than a dead lefty?

Answer: A live one! Ha!

Tina

So, you use your reply tab more than you should, ha? LOL... Do they penalize Ashton Cusher for "replying" to his million followers too???
I was listening to your webinar the other day when you mentioned the 5 names of people with the most following on twitter, and there was one thing in commom in all of them: LIBERALs...I guess they don't want conservatives to invade their "world"...Too bad! We're here to stay. Get yourself a good lawyer... It smells "discrimination" big time!!

James Paris

Here we go, my Twitter suspension is now on the national news wires.

Rory Gallagher

That is absurd. Talk about censorship at it's worst. This is an eye opener for people to know just who exactly/what kind of people are behind twitter? I am greived to see our freedom of speech being twisted and perverted for the gain and control of liberals. Keep up the great work and don't let this bullying tactic scare you from speaking truth. Rush Limbaugh is not a rasict for pointing out the obvious and you are not evil for taking a stand. Wicked people are running amuck and that email you received goes to serve what type of ignorance and hatred is out there against conservative Christian values. I commend you Mr. Paris and fully support you and your efforts.

Daniel Coleman

To bad people don't check out the information before making judgements. It hasn't been proven that he made all those comments. Ass far as the McNab issue it was more of an assult on the media not on Donovon but that seems to be lost with axes to grind. amazing how any objection to the road of socialism our President is taking us down is considered racist not political or philosophical in nature. How about all these people saying we're devisive. It seems they are the ones not wanting to include everyone.

Good luck James and keep the GOOD FIGHT going as Paul commands.

Paul

It seems to me that all the negative vibes this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has been spewing over these many years has come back to blow back on his face (A classic “Blow Back”). He always tries to give off the airs that he can have anything he wants but as we all witness those with more money and more influence tossed him aside like sack of potatoes and the ultimate insult was that it was done in public (money don’t buy you everything butterball).

Now of course he blames everyone else (Michael J. Fox, Perez Hilton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor, Hillary Clinton, Olympia Snowe, ESPN, NFL, the media, basically people of color, the handicapped, women and gays) when of course all you have to do is listen to his show and plainly hear his daily prejudices filled sermons. So NFL, I salute you decision, job well done. And to the whaling cry baby perched on his self made pedestal, quit your whining it was your own fault. Don’t we all feel better?

T.O.

Maybe you should consider developing your own social networking site. It could be one of your many successful business ventures. Just a thought:)

Mary

Rush Limbaugh is a racist? Wow. That's news to me and him.

James Paris

This e mail just came in from someone happy to hear about my ban from Twitter:

Anyone who support a racist such as Rush Limbaugh SHOULD be suspended from ALL forms of media! Now that you have revealed what is considered conservative Christians values as a cover up for racism and hatred.....I will let all of my other friends know what a JOKE you are to generate emails pretending to be a organization which support LOVE! I am glad you are suspended from Twitter so you will not continue to influence young or old for that matter impressible minds. Hopefully you will use your time now doing something GOOD! Twitter just said bye to another DEVIL!!!! YES!
