I was listening to Neil Boortz on Thursday morning and could not believe his suggestion that by the end of the week George Bush would be blamed for the collapse of the bridge in Minneapolis. While I do enjoy conservative talk radio, sometimes these guys seem to really just go too far with the whole "left right" thing. Well, that same afternoon it started (Boortz was right only about 2 hours after ending his morning show). I began to hear callers to talk radio suggesting that if not for the war in Iraq, we would have had the money to maintain the bridge that collapsed. I later heard another commentator suggesting the exact same thing. Let's face it, the government is absolutely horrible with handling the money we pay in taxes. All politicians should be ashamed that this bridge was not properly maintained; local, state, and federal. There is more than enough blame to go around. It is a sad commentary on the state of our politics to see such a gruesome tragedy turned into a polictical football before the bodies are even removed from the wreckage. That's how I see it.
